HDTV & TiVo recording?

I just got HDTV about 2 months ago, I have a box in the living room and a box in my bedroom. Up into a week ago I was able to record 2 shows at a time with both boxes or record one show, and watch another, well a week ago I moved my tv from my bedroom to the basement and I hooked everything up down there, everything works great except I can only record one show down there, and I have to watch the show I'm recorded and if I change the channel then it stops recording the previous show I was recordeing. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? my memmory has 73% left so I dont think it is to full? Please explain if you know.

  1. Depending on the model number of your gear, placement of settings is variable-- SO, it's either a hard button on the front panel of the box (or a hard button inside a little flip down door), or it's a setting within your box.

It's probably something called "Single Mode" or "Dual Mode", meaning that you can either record two shows at the same time on one TV, or you can record one show at a time but on two TVs simultaneously utilizing the secondary output on the box (with the second room being controlled with an RF remote instead of an IR remote).

Based on how you've been using the system up until a week ago, you were probably in Single Mode and it got accidentally switched to Dual Mode.
