I am going to buy an HDTV. Here's the website with info on it:

Do I have to buy an HD receiver to receive HD programming from my DIRECTV service? What if I upgrade my DIRECTV to HD? Will they provide me with an HD receiver? Or do I still have to buy one from a store?

  1. To receive HD service, you must have a HD receiver provided by your provider.  The provider, in this case, DIRECTV, will charge you a monthly fee for the HD signal they transmit.

  2. u should upgrade ur directv to hd and they will give u an hd receiver when they set it up. u have to pay 10 bucks extra per month for hd programming.

  3. You should be all set.  That TV has an HD tuner to receive over the air HD broadcasts with an antenna (but you probably won't use that).  The Direct TV HD box will most probably have some sort of HD output connector like HDMI.  Your TV has 2 or 3 HDMI inputs.  A TV like that gives you a lot of options.

If you stick with normal Direct TV your TV can handle that too.
