HELP!! My little boy!?

Question

I had my 31/2 year old at the doctor today because he gets water looking blisters down around his ankles and sometimes other places...they are red at first then get the water filled blister and they are real hard then they pop open weep the fluid out and leave a little scar. The doctor is calling a dermitologist to see what they think. But she said that it looks like an auto immune disease called pempigoid...omg...I looked it up and CRIED...hoping someone might have any other ideas...I was thinking maybe he is just severly allergic to a bug outside?? HELP!

It sounds like that to me. There's nothing to worry about. I know it's hard to see a loved one go through something like that. The good thing is that its controllable. Your son will be feeling better in no time!

I had to look this up too since I had never heard of it. First off, it is VERY RARE in people under 50. It doesn't sound like this is what your son has, but I'm not a Dr.

I had a problem just like this when I was in high school. As it turned out, I am highly allergic to poison ivy which I stepped in. It took the whole summer to get rid of it with the help of steroids. It finally cleared up and I've never had another problem.

Hopefully with further testing you will have better news as to what your son has. Good luck.

DONT WORRY!!!!! EVERYTHING'S FINE! I HAD THE SAME THING WHEN I WAS ABOUT 4 OR 5. ONLY I GOT THEM ON MY LEGS. THEY WERE KIND OF CLEAR LIKE AND THEY WOULD POP EASILY AND SOME WATER LIKE FLUID WOULD COME OUT. I NEVER WENT TO THE DOCTOR THOUGH. THEY STOPPED COMING ON THERE OWN.AND AS FOR THE SCARS...THEY COMPLETELY DISSAPPEARED! AND OMG YOUR DOCTOR HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE/SHE IS TALKING ABOUT. IT AINT NOT GOT d**n DISEASE! TRUST ME! LET ME KNOW IF HE GETS BTTER...(WHICH HE WILL)

It could be a simple virus such as hand foot and mouth.

If the blisters are an allergic reaction to insects or plants, they typically don't occur on a regular basis or in the same locations.  Unfortunately, based on your description, it looks like these blisters are probably  not caused by an allergy.  On the bright side, this disorder is not a serious health problem and most of these types of disorders in children suddenly disappear or gradually dissipate, and prescriptions usually knock out the problem in a couple of days.    The worst case scenario is that this will pop up every now and then throughout his life, and he will have to take medicine to knock it back into remission.

It could be an allergy, but don't dismiss what the doc says either. I guess you'll just have to see what the dermitologist says.

I'd say it's a reaction to something which could be some type of plants I doubt it is a bug but just make sure he doesn't go outside near anything that he may react to for a bit if that works then you've solved it

I'm sorry about you little boy but the only thing you really need to do at this point is get a grip, sorry for being blunt but its true. You have to be strong and BELIEVE that you boy is going to be all right. If your freaking out about this think of how you kid is feeling. Never assume the worst because that is exactly what you'll get. If you pluck up the courage to say that my boy is going to be just fine then that's what will happen. God Bless.

I just found this on the internet. This does not look like anything really serious. Let the DRs do the tests and stay strong for your son best of luck with your son. I will say  prayer for him      

Bullous pemphigoid can be chronic and mild without affecting the general health of affected individuals. Treatment of bullous pemphigoid can resolve with topical cortisone creams but sometimes requires high doses of cortisone ("steroids") taken internally.
