Question:

HELP PLEASE! DIGITAL CAMERA PROBLEM

by  |  earlier

i have taken around a thousand pictures on my casio digital camera. Out of that 500 of them are corrupt and neither windows or leopard will let me view them. I have tried using recover my files to retain the pictures however the same pictures are corrupt. I can however view all of the pictures on my digital camera. Any ideas on how to deal with this? Many thanks

  1. Remove the batteries and power from the camera for at least one minute and allow the camera to reset or restore to the original settings.

It takes time for the pictures to process.  If you don't allow this to complete there will be a problem with corrupt pictures. You cannot recover the pictures, but this may help you in the future.

If you use high MP (mega pixel) settings it will take longer to process. I use a 3 MP setting unless there is something special where greater detail is needed.

Also, the memory can cause a problem if it is too slow. San Disk or something like that seems to be faster than some others.

If you use AA NiMH batteries the link below will provide information that will help make the batteries and camera work better.

  2. I would either:

    Get a new memory card

    or

Delete all pictures and try again.

If the problem still persists, go see a professional.

Make sure your warrenty hasn't run out yet -- just in case!
