  1. come to the university at buffalo!! (in new york state) great med school, reasonable tuition, diverse student body.  go to www.buffalo.edu i am a recent graduate, i plan to go to law school there.  it really is a GREAT school, and the med program is awesome.  another great med program is at the University of Rochester, also in new york state, but it's not a state university so the tuition is higher, and the student body is less diverse.  my sister went there, it is a great school.  can't beat new york colleges!  good luck

  2. I highly recommend you sign up for www.fastweb.com  They have everything a college student needs.  They have information on universities, scholarships and internships.  The dept of travel will have lots of valuable information for you, check out http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.h...

The bigger the university, the larger the classes and less personal it will be.  The only school that I can recommend is Indianan University. It is in a small town in Indiana.  They have a very good medical program.  I know there are tons of other schools that have good programs, but that is the only one near me.

Good luck!!  email/im if I can help you any further.  :-)

  3. Neniaf gave you some great advice.

I hope she too reported the scam artist she warned you against!

To get into a medical school here you need a pre-med degree from an accredited university. Since you seem to be a religious sort, you might see if your church will sponsor you for that first.

  4. In the U.S., you need to have a university degree before you begin studying medicine, so you would need to spend four years getting a bachelors degree, followed by four years in medical school.

To be honest, though, there are very few scholarships given to anyone, and even fewer to international students.  Most universities who welcome international students do so because they will pay the entire tuition themselves, rather than taking out loans and other forms of financial aid.  Most of those who ARE here on scholarship got those scholarships from their own governments, which means that they tend to come from wealthier countries (or are the children of government officials or other leaders in a country with concentrated wealth).    Preference for most scholarship is given to U.S. students, especially at the undergraduate level.

In addition, while some graduate programs are looking for the best candidates, regardless of nationality, that is primarily true of Ph.D. programs, not medical schools.  Most medical students, even those here, have to pay for medical school themselves.  That is why most medical school graduates are heavily in debt, because they take out loans to get through the program.  Unfortunately, that avenue is not available to international students because no one will loan money to someone they won't be able to find to get them to pay back the loans.

Also, be very careful about some who offer help.  I see someone has already posted here offering to get you in to universities without the tests which any reputable university would require.  The only way he could do this is if his organization were a scam.
