  1. Depends on the church and location.

Mine: 500$ and booked two months in advance

Friends: 1100$ and had to book 16 months in advance

  2. It all depends on the church.  some have set rates, some ask for a donation.  You can look at $150 and up.  If its a donation, do what you can for them, try no to skimp, but you don't need to over do it.

Book as soon as you are sure of your date.  That way it wont get booked when you want it.  No sense in waiting.

Call the church recorty or office.  they can book it for you or direct you to who can.

  3. Churches normally have a set fee. When we booked ours, it was £247 for the service, £22 for the publication of banns and £3.50 for the certificate. Organists are sometimes extra on top of these fees, so it is best to ask the vicar.

When you have a date, it is normally wise to book the church as soon as you know, especially if you live in a fairly big town or a city.

Find out who the vicar of the church is, there should be a notice board somewhere with their name and contact details on. Just give him/her a call, and they'll be happy to help!

    Good luck, and congratulations!

  4. You are looking at around 500 pounds for a church wedding.

That included the certificate, the vicar was a registrar anyway so she was legal to do that part. That was with a soloist and organist

If you find it anywhere else cheaper good luck!!!

You need to find the church you want to marry in and phone the vicar. He or she will arrange to see you and discuss when you want to marry and the details.

If you arent religious then you need to attend 6 church services as a minimum before you marry and if its not in your parish you need to get banns read in your parish and the one you marry in!!

  5. My church did not charge me for the ceremony, because I'd gone there my whole life,  and the minister was an honorarium not a set fee.

  6. You have to call the church you are interested in and find out. If you're getting married during a more popular time, like summer or holidays, you may have to book well over a year early. Otherwise, 6 months to a year is good. Do it as soon as you can so that you know it's all set up. You call the church and speak with the minister, or if he has a secretary, you can ask her.

The church I used didn't charge anything for the church. The minister charged $50. That's different anywhere you go though, so you'll just have to ask.

  7. Depends on where you live, some Churches require that you book 6 months to a year in advance. If it's a popular place could be longer than that. Best bet is to call the church where you want to hold your ceremony and ask them about wedding prices and availability dates.
