  1. I am a member of a couple of online groups that have been extremely helpful:

    Kid Cultivators Homeschool Cohort

    and

    Black Stay At Home Moms

They list homeschool resources that are usually free and downloadable.

  2. Have you ever heard of project Gutenberg? It is an online resource of thousands of free books. http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Pag

If you use the book list from the Robinson Curriculum: http://www.hstreasures.com/rc/booklist.h...

and find as many of those resources as you can at Gutenberg and use your library for whatever you can't find at Gutenberg, you can let your child read their way through all the 8th grade subjects easily.

Homeschooling at About.com has hundreds of helpful links: http://homeschooling.about.com/

  3. You might consider checking out http://oldfashionededucation.com/ . They are old books, but many work just as well as the modern ones.

There are TONS of websites on homeschooling. Just spend and afternoon (or many!) surfing.

You might consider also checking out what's available at your local library and even the used book section at Goodwill or other similar store. I picked up a highly prized anatomy colouring book for only a few dollars--retail price is something like $40.
