  1. google is your friend - search "horses for sale" and it will come up with a bunch of classified ad - search engines.. Lots of in exspensive, quality horses

  2. Craigslist has a bunch of horse listings.

  3. Equine.com, Dreamhorse.com and Horsetopia.com are all good sales sites.

Be aware, as others have stated, keeping a horse is very expensive.  Between hay and grain daily, farrier every 6-8 weeks, vet as needed, wormer every other month unless you use a daily wormer and equipment, you will run up large bills (several hundred dollars monthly).  Also, if you do not have a proper shelter for your horse, you will need to board and the cost of boarding can run anywhere from $100 -$1000 per month depending on where you live.

There is a reason equestrian sports are considered "The Sport of Kings"!

  4. HorseClicks.com is another good site

2 year old "female" is called filly, after 3 it is a mare.  Why do you want a filly/mare? do you have plans on breeding later?

If you do, let me tell you that you can buy a baby a lot cheaper than you can raise one.  2 year olds are too young to  ride hard- the attention span of a 2 year old is about 20 minutes, if you are lucky.  Do you have the experience to deal with a young horse?  Perhaps you need to look for something that is started over fences, spend a little more but save money in the long run.  Board at $200.00/month is $2400/year, plus other expenses such as farrier and vet.  Save the first year's board, now you have $3000 to buy a horse with.

    Good luck

  5. There are many good horse sale places online. I will give you the ones I know of. I would use the advance search button. I have purchased a horse this way and it was helpful.

    horseville.com

    equinehits.com

    equinenow.com

    equine.com

    agdirect.com

    horse.com

    horsefinders.com

    dreamhorse.com

  6. try horsetopia and horsemart

  7. www.dreamhorse.com

  8. dreamhorse.com and horsetopia.com are the best.

  9. You have a computer, check out Craigslist, lots of them on there right now.  Also, local papers, etc.

  10. If you cant spend more than $700 on a horse, you cant afford a horse. Hay is over $400/ton in the south for alfalfa and $200/grass/costal. Then you will need to pay farrier, vet and worming costs etc. Get a dog

  11. There's a reason you can't find a 2 year old that can be ridden or jumped...THEY ARE TOO YOUNG.  Most people don't even start a horse under saddle until it's at LEAST 2 1/2, if not older.  So even if you bought a started 3 year old, it's not going to know much or be capable of much.  Unless you know how to train, you need an older horse...8+ years preferably.

Even many 4-6 year olds are still green.  That's why I say 8+.  WIth good care, many horses are living to be nearly 30, or even over 30, nowadays.  Get something a little older and you can still have it a good 15 or 20 years.

  12. try craigslist, horsetopia, equine hits

  13. We have gotten a lot of horses from this website... try it out I think this may help

    www.dreamhorse.com

  14. First off you can't ride a 2y/o horse...and you ESPECIALLY cna't jump it!!! Maybe you should wait until...

#1You have ebough money for a horse you can ride.

#2 Learn more about horse care..I don;t mean grooming and feeding I mean you have need to learn more about what is in your area, and learn more about horses in genral. If you didn't know you can't ride a 2y/o for more than MAYBE 20miniutes TOPS, and NO jumping and NO cantering...you would ahve to train it.

I would lease a horse before you go around looking for a "2 year old female $700 horse"

It would basically be a rescue at that cheap...if you leave anywhere near Ohio I would definetly recommend looking at www.lastchancecorral.org

They ahve very cheap rescue horses, that are trained :)

    GOOD LUCK...and keep studying

  15. surely you aren't planning to jump a 2 year old?
