  1. I love to cook from scratch.but, when it comes to spag sauce I have always bought pre-made and added to it... its usually a plain sauce.I saute onions and green peppers...then add to cooked and drained 1./2 pound Italian sausage and 1/2 pound hamburger...then add the sauce.

I have found only one sauce that I don't feel the need to "doctor" Classico is really quite good as is.

  2. -tomato sauce

    -garlic(lots)

-basil (lots and fresh is better but dry is good)

-for extra texture add some canned tomato which are precooked and peeled

first put garlic with some olive oil

    add tomato sauce and basil

when it turn a darker red add some chunk of tomato XD

really simple and i love it

btw any italian pasta with tomato uses basil so its really the most important ingredient besides the tomato

check ragu and prego (not homemade sauce) and it has basil

    so dont forget it

  4. Yes, sometimes using cans of tomato sauce and paste but sometimes (like now) from fresh tomatoes.  The only time I use jarred sauces is when I make lasagna or stuffed shells.

If you're looking for a recipe, tell me if you mean from fresh tomatoes or canned and if you're looking for a meat sauce or mushroom sauce or just a marinara sauce.  You can email me and I'll answer accordingly.
