HSG Test, Please Advise?

Question

We are TTC from past 2 years and recently started visiting Gynec (I should have started with reproductive endroc..). She has done following process:

1. Physical test to my wife - good, no issues found in test

2. Temperature Chart for my wife - everything is good, no issues.

3. Post Coital Test - Found my sperm dead, no live sperm.

4. My Sperm analysis - Everything was above good, no issues with this test

5. Now, she is suggesting for HSG test for my wife,

My Qn: Is it good to go ahead with this test? I heard there are more good tests than this test? Also, this test is expensive (with insurance also, I may have to pay 700$). Pls provide your valuable suggestions (prefarably, those who underwent through this test). Thanks in advance,,

It's a good test to undergo to verify if her tubes are open. It's simple and relatively inexpensive (compared to other options i.e. surgery). My guess is your doc will recommend IUI after the test to overcome issues discovered during post coital test.
