  1. well if you have an appointment with the hairdresser you wouldn't really HAVE a phobia of it. because you wouldn't of made the call in the first place. but don't worry about it, if your worried they'll cut to much off then ask for a little bit less than you want!

  2. Just keep in mind that they will be nice people, and you can control what is going to happen.

Tell the hairdresser, when you arrive, that you are nervous, and she will be able to reassure you.

Don't panic. Take a book or magazine with you, so you can concentrate on that, and if it helps, chat with the hairdresser, it will reduce your stress.

    Good luck.

    xx

  3. i used to have the same thing as you...still do

i have to force myself to go.....i only go if i really need to

i'm only scared of how i will come out and i hate telling the lady what i want coz i never really know what i want....

  4. i just come back from the hairdressers and i got my haircut for free as they cut my ear and stabed my head with a comb!

  5. You have no reason to be nervous!  They will do a wonderful job, and it just feels SOO good to have someone wash your hair for you--that's my favorite part.  Since you're getting the full treatment, you will come out looking fabulous and it will be such a great result that you will feel great about yourself!

Go into it with the attitude that you're going to be pampered and treated like a diva--and you will come out looking like one! :)

Have fun with it--they are trained professionals and will have you looking beautiful in no time!  just relax and enjoy it--I wish I could go with you, I desperately need a salon day! :)

    Good luck! :)

  6. A phobia of hair dressers? Wow, thats a new one.

Hairdressers are well-trained people who spend a long time learning about hair. When a hairdresser cuts your hair,, it means they take alot off, a trim is a slight bit of hair off.

My mom is a hairdresser, and I'm not afraid of her.

    Hairdressers are HIGHLY TRAINED PROFFESIONALS.

In other words, they know what their doing.

In other, other words, don't be afraid! Its like the dentist, school shopping, and check-ups. THey're nesssacary, but theres nothing to fear, and they're over in less than an hour.

    Hope I helped!

  7. wow I too have the same phobia!!! Make sure you tell him/her  EXACTLY what you want and don't be afraid to stop him/her if you think they're not cutting it right. Good Luck!

  8. hi I'm mel I'm a hairdresser the hairdressers are fine do u go all the time

    w/b mel

  9. I don't go to hairdressers any more...since the last "professional" did not do what I asked and butchered my hair.  Do it yourself.

  10. whats the big deal..seriously?

  11. i have the same problem going tho the hairdressers is a bad as going to the dentist for me, just make sure you tell them exactly how much you want trimming off and how you would prefer to wear your hair (style)

  12. Start off by insisting that you only want a tiny trim, and that you do not want your style to be changed.  As you gain confidence you can decide to revise this - or not.

Make sure you always see the same girl (provided she did ok the first time).

And most critically - if you have fine hair (this is the kind of hair that usually only tiny babies have - really fluffy and silky and impossible to style), then don't kid yourself that you will come out looking as good as when you went in.  You'll just be fooling yourself.  I have this kind of hair, like blond candyfloss, and I know that although the girl will cut my hair the way I want, she will blow dry it flat as a pancake.  I will have to spend half an hour re-styling it when I get home.  This is because there isn't a hairdresser alive on the planet who has a clue what to do with fine hair.

Good luck - try to at least enjoy the pampering part of having it washed, because that is always really nice.  You can always back-comb it and squirt on loads of hairspray when you get home if you need to.

  13. close ur eyes and imagine what u would look like afterwards.

  14. Just think of how popular you will become because of it :)

    Its not guna kill u

  15. just try and relax. take slow deep breaths. you could always take a close friend or family member for support. try and think of it like this.you are not going to let anything stand in your way and you're going to try and overcome your fear. think positive thoughts and if you think positive i'm sure you'll find the experience positive as well. good luck!

  16. What exactly are you afraid of??
