is Haiti a place you would want to avoid when going to Dominican Republic?, im making a travel guide in spanish

yeah u should avoid it but alot of people there are friendly.

It is an interesting country with it's own culture and history. Political unrest and poverty makes it some what dangerous for tourist but it is worth a look as part of a guided tour. Like going anywhere, especially as an American you want to be careful not to be to flashy or feel you are doing good with personal handout. That can create havoc and danger. Also respect the people there- if you go to a village don't poke your head through someone's door. Do you want some stranger walking up to your house and sticking their head into you living room.

Unless you're going in a guided tour, it's a place you'll want to avoid. There are many kidnappings of locals and tourists alike who are held for ransom.  The country is still under United Nations Peacekeeping Forces occupation.

I don't recommend go there at this time.  Alot of unrest. Just not safe or stable
