Half life 2 PC elevator glitch?

Question

in half life 2 on the PC, there are a few scenes where you find an NPC and he/she calls an elevator, but on mine, when he/she's supposed to step into the elevator with you, and you go down/up, he/she just stands on the outside doing nothing. In the first elevator scene with Alyx, I got it to work by redoing the level from the last save, but in east black mesa, nothing seems to work

i have the same glitch i fixed it by saving and then loading the game inside the elevator

dont ask how this worked but it does :/

but now i hve a new glitch

in entanglement all the way near the end of the game alyx does not get off the elevator D:

There are a couple patches out for this game. Not sure if any will help you? But here is a link. But by installing a patch you may loose any of your saves?
