Half shaft will not come out

Hello everyone i am having a problem with my 94 ford tempo gl. i am trying to take out the right half shaft, but it wont come out. I was able to get a little out but then it stopped. i used a pry bar, hammer, and a long screwdriver to try and get it out. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

  1. did you disconnect the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle? you need to do that first, then push the outer cv stub out of the hub while pulling the knuckle outward so as to free the outer end of the shaft first, then go ahead & pry the inner end out of the trans. have a drip pan ready!


  2. Isn't there a pin holding it in the differential?

  3. there is a special tool made to remove the half shafts from that car. the can be remove with a pry bar but they are a pain in the butt.

  4. Get a slid hammer, You really have to pop, the shaft out. I thought I way going to pull one car off the jack stands.
