  1. Even if you brought the caage, the temperature would still be too much, weather is is too hot during the day, or too clod during the night. If he escapes, you will never see him again. He will be fine home alone for a week, just change his bedding before you leave fill up his water bottle and his food dish and he should be good to go. Don't forget, he will also store food in his cheeks.

  2. I agree, it's just more efficient to leave him at home.

The new area will first of all be stressful to him. So that's needless stress. He is not adventurous, he's just happy living in your comfy home.

Then there is the temperature difference. Unless you get him a tiny sleeping bag, he will be living in uncomfortable temperature needlessly.

And then there is the chance of his getting out. Small animals get spooked very easily by the smallest things. A strange sound can have him darting out of the cage when you open it. I doubt you'd have much luck getting him back.

Also, he might possibly attract other animals that hear him and presume him as prey. He may also get ill if he gets bitten by an insect which is carrying a parasite.

You just never know. Leave him at home. Hamstes aren't much of campers anyway! But DO NOT leave him alone like the other person said!! I know you already said you have someone to look after him, but just mentioning that leaving him alone will be very irresponsible.

  3. Well, do you think he'll be happy for 7 days in a small travel cage?  I don't think he would and what if he got loose?  Also, what about the temps at night?  Will it get chilly?  I think you should leave him home.

Well, as long as the temps stay ok, not too hot or cold I think it'd be ok to bring it then.  As long as it has it's cage.  The only thing I'd worry about it losing him, if you take him out and he gets loose and runs into the woods...

  4. probably not. bcause of bugs, the heat, and the cold. bugs LOVE rodents. and once they get on them, very hard to get off. and will live off your hamsters blood. rodents have heat strokes very, VERY easily. and can also get sick very easily if they're too cold. I'd say keep him home. give him extra food, and myb a secnd dish of water? because even if you look at the weather, chances are the weathers going to change. and it might get too cold, or too hot and can kill your hammy.
