Ok i have two hamsters that we bought at the same time, theyre brothers. We've had them for a little over a year now and one is doing just fine, hes active and eats properly and everything. But the other, seems to have some matted fur on his back, but when we tried to was it off, it stayed put. Hes no longer eating and is becoming very weak. Does anyone know what it could be thats making him like this. Some sort of skin infection?

  1. It could be a number of things - doesn't necessarily mean a skin infection, he could just be feeling too ill to groom himself.

Best thing you should do is take him to a vet, especially if he is not eating as he will go downhill very quickly.
