i was sick with the flu or very bad cold last week.im aware hamsters can catch some human colds/viruses,so my husband cared for the hamsters.now,my husband is sick, and im somewhat better.i still have a headache, clogged sinuses, feel tired, but no more coughing or fever.am i still contagious?i gave them food and water quickly, and used hand sanitiser.can i take them out and play?they look lonely,i was sick for 9 days.i dont want them to feel neglected or bored, but i dont want them to get sick either.how long should i wait,or am i well enough now,not to be a risk?

  1. Usually if you no longer have a fever, you are no longer contagious.

  2. I believe you're past the contagious stage.  It is always a good idea though, to wash your hands both before and after playing with the Hamms.  It was very thoughtful and responsible of you and your husband to think of the hammies while your were ill.  I am always so happy to hear of well loved and well cared for furry companions.

I wish you both a speedy recovery and good blessings
