  1. the word Hap or happy means chance / luck or to "happen" upon something

I think life is more than chance and random events that we are not in control of or can't influence or at least steer it differently and adapt as we go

indonesian language does not have western words like "hello/goodbye, when, want, later...." time is nixed and life becomes about NOW and those around you and they don't care who comes / goes...just glad to be with them and glad to be with nature...coexistence

  2. That is a tautology.

You could say that happiness is all about happiness, too, because happiness and contentment mean the same thing.

  3. In reality happiness does not lie in the satisfaction of desires. This is like being happy by transferring the burden of head to the shoulder. It is also not correct to say that we will be happy proportionately with the desires satisfied, because real happiness lies in the absence of desires, not in their satisfaction. Because we reduce our restlessness in partial absence of desires, it can, therefore, naturally be understood that complete absence of desires will lead us to complete happiness. It is wrong to say that desire dies out after its fulfilment and that should be regarded as happiness, because absence of desires does not mean their satisfaction, but their absolute absence.

  4. Happiness comes from inside. While it's doubtful anyone is ever 100% content with his/her life  if one is content overall in spite of a few negatives there is no reason not to be happy.

  5. Happiness makes up in height for what it lacks in length

  6. Happiness and contentment are roughly synonymous.

    Harleigh Kyson Jr.

  7. True Happiness is about Inner Peace. -For when we understand Ourselves, everything ELSE makes sense, & we can deal with whatever else Life throws at us...   :)

  8. The two basic components of happiness are contentment and lack of fear. But what is contentment? Contentment is often described as 'lack of desire', which is fine, but does that mean it's not possible to be happy if you have desires? Happiness is about contentment at every turn in life - content with the imperfections in life, content with your plans for the future and current activities, content with the desires you have and with the possibility that you may not fulfill all your current desires, content that life throws challenges, content that you gave it your best shot even if it didnt work out, content that you will handle whatever life throws at you... This kind of contentment comes from a perspective, a realization, that there is a higher game in life beyond the daily ups and downs.   Happiness is not an 'all-or-nothing' experience and neither is contentment.
