Happy Pregnancy gift?

Question

My close friend found out she's pregnant about two weeks ago. She was told by her OB to stay at home as much as possible for the first few weeks just for safety's sake. (My friend miscarried her first pregnancy not too long ago.)

I'd like to get my friend a Happy Pregnancy gift just for her (not for the baby just yet, plenty of time for that!) I know that she has already purchased a pregnancy planner and a baby name book. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a thoughtful gift for a mom-to-be?

If she has been told to rest and stay at home how about looking into safe aromatherapy for early pregnancy and give her some insence and candles to help chill her out. Also a calming CD and bath salts?

Burt's Bees makes a pregnancy line. They have some really nice products for mama-to-be. One thing I loved was this peppermint leg and foot cream- it felt so good on my legs and it was a good excuse for my husband to rub my feet! Plus, it isn't super expensive!

maybe a baby book :D I cant wait to fill mine out when the baby gets here.

It sounds like your friend will be needing some down time and rest. The first trimester can be exhausting and some people can have "morning" afternoon and night sickness. So, if you are close enough, come over and cook her a meal so she can relax. Or, send her a good book (not necessarily a pregnancy related book) or a funny movie.

start a gift subscription to American Baby or Pregnancy magazine.  it's what my best friend and I did for each other when we first found out.

I would suggest the book "Your pregnancy week by week" by Gladys B. Curtis.  It is a wonderful book that spells out what is going on in your pregnancy every week.  They sell the latest edition at Walmart for about 14.00.
