when you boil an egg, the clear liquid part surrounding the yolk becomes white and solid. Discuss why this happens

  1. Proteins are irreversibly coagulated when treated with high heat, this changes their chemical structure, and in turn, their physical structure.  Since the egg white is high in protein, it only makes sense that there would be some sort of change after protein denaturation.
