Has Mats Sundin retired yet?

Maybe, at this stage of his career, it makes sense for him to come back in January or February just before the playoffs? Join a playoff bound team.

Maybe Mats wants to do that for his last two years?

I'm really wondering if that is why he hasn't signed a new contract.  Maybe he is seriously considering it.

No, he didn't. He is still mulling about returning or not this year, although he got offer from 4 teams, most notably the one from Canucks ($20 million for 2 years).

No, he is keeping the 4 teams offering him a contract waiting.  Says it will be later opposed to sooner.

Mats obviously doesn't want to win a Stanley Cup or else he would have decided LAST YEAR!! Mats is #1 at one thing though...he is now #1 in the hockey media's note books. Well done Mats...you have finally achieved something. Don't tell me it has taken you this long to decide your future...you've had hardly anything to do BUT think about it for the last 12 months!

Sundin is a bit of an odd sort; clearly he's going to do things on his time schedule...to the best of my knowledge he's still undecided.  

So he will play next year.  Or not.  Unless he does.  Or doesn't.

Bugger if I know.  My guess is the Leafs will have a new captain come October.  Unless he comes back.

The man hasn't made up his mind yet. But he definitely won't come in half way of the season because he doesn't believe in rental players. He will either retire or sign with a team this summer!
