Has anyone caculated how fast ice melts under same environment elements, and could this caculation be used to come up with how long it would take block of ice 100 feet deep and mile long to melt given hypitical constant factors above 32 degrees.

  1. This is a heat transfer problem.  You'd need details such as the temperature of the ice, the temperature of the atmosphere, fluid velocities around the ice, and radiation constants (emissivity of the ice, sky, etc.)   Since many of these things will vary, your answer won't be completely relevant to real world ice hauling, but you can certainly take some stabs at it.
