Question:

Has anyone heard of this rollercoaster?

I heard about it aggggges ago - it was something like;

it is on the top of a building and half way round the track breaks and dangles the carriage over the city below

any ideas?? it's not las vegas is it??

  2. Ya that is the one in vegas, i forgot the hotels name but it's all the way on top of the building, and it makes you fall and brings you backwards and repeats....i would never go on that though i'll have a heart attack haha, but im sure its beautiful at nite =]

  4. It sounds like you have confused two totally separate rides at the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas.

    The roller coaster you're thinking of is the High Roller, which was nothing more than a circular roller coaster with a few dips and hills.  It was the world's highest (not tallest) roller coaster until it was removed.  The High Roller was essentially a family roller coaster, but built at the 909 foot level of the tower. It made three circles around the tower, but never extended out beyond the edge.  When the roller coaster was removed in 2006, it was cut into small enough pieces so it could be taken down from the tower in an elevator.

    The "dangling" ride you're thinking of is X-Scream, which is just a passenger carriage on a tilt-away platform that, when the ride begins it's cycle, tilts forward allowing the carriage to slide down to the edge, ultimately 27 feet past the edge and 866 feet above the Vegas Strip below.
