  1. Yes, i've used romaround tours about three weeks ago, we came over from australia for a holiday in rome for eight days.

we used romaround for the vatican tour as well as a tour of the colosseum and palatine hill.  i am still raving about 'Michael' our guide who did our tour of the vatican on a saturday morning.  he was a youngish british guide who had been living in rome for about four years and had gone through the vatican museums about 200 times so he knew his stuff.  the knowledge he had and his approachable and down to earth manner won me over immediately.

the tour started at about 9.30amish, but it wasn't until 11amish that we actually were in the vatican, due to the walk, queuing, bag checks, toilet breaks and having to get the headphones etc for the tour.  tour concluded at about 3pm and we were left to our own devices.  I learnt SO MUCH.

we did the colosseum and palatine hill tour with romaround first, then we realised they did tours of the vatican too so decided to do the vatican through them too.  i can quite honestly say that the money for the vatican tour through romaround (especially with Michael) was the best money i spent in rome.

i would recommend romaround, and if you can, get 'Michael' the british tour guide.  he was brilliant.
