Incidentally, for all you feminists out there in yahoo territory, yes I am a fan of womens rights. But as a hard working father, I get the impression men are second rate these days, especially when it comes to rights in the workplace. Do you agree?

  1. Yep..

Feminism is about more special benefits and privileges with less responsibility.

  2. ...possibly?  You should elaborate further; there are certain areas in which men are treated unfairly.

  3. In most societies men are still considered of more value than women.  As a male you have never experienced the bias that goes along with being female.  If was not too long ago that  women's rights were not recognized and certainly not discussed.  Men are still given every chance to move ahead in their chosen career while women are still just breaking into many.

  4. No, I don't agree. I think both men and women have their fair share of inequalities, all of which need to be resolved.

  5. I had to go work in a factory when I was 20yrs old in order to raise my boys without public assistance,I stood 5'6'and weighed 110lbs.I was told by the men that I was NO different then they and if I wanted to work there the same was expected of me as any of them no matter how heavy or extreme the job may be sooooooooo I did it!!That was 25 years ago.I'd have to say you guys asked for this!!!Come on I wasn't there because I wanted to be I was there because I had to be I was given no breaks and if I would of lived off of public assistance I would have been some woman living off the tax payers money. Now I'm considered a"feminisr" I'm not understanding what you guys really want,no child support was paid here!!!

  6. no,it hasn't and it never will.

oooh....so now you're complaining?! after centuries and centuries of inferiorizing women in all aspects, now that we've got more power you're complaining?!!!! how dare you?

  7. After a couple of months here on YA, I don't think it's gone far enough.

  8. No, feminism has not gone too far.  I'm glad you are in favor of women's rights, but we don't need you to tell us when we have made it or when we have "gone too far."  Your message sounds like, "OK, that's enough, girls.  I am feeling a little second rate these days.  You can pack it in."

I'm sorry you are feeling inadequate these days. Please don't blame feminists for it.

(See how nice I was, with all the pleases and sorrys?)

  9. The most damming mistake feminism ever made was not putting enough emphasis on morality. Freedom without responsibility and morality is a path to self destruction. This is where feminism went to far.

Edit: Ask all the women who thought that they could be just as sexual as men and have meaningless s*x through the avenues of one night stands. Many of those women feel devalued now. Feminism provided the freedom to make personal choices, but failed to teach women to make choices that would bring long lasting fulfillment.

  10. Maybe radical feminism has gone to far,but not the old-fashioned type of feminism, where its just about women's rights, not women having more rights.

Feminism is most needed in places like Saudi Arabia,Iraq and

    Pakistan.

  11. You mean we went to far when expect the same salary for the same effort.   Or when we don't want to be sexually harassed,  those little quid pro quo things.    Or when we object to the labels of "men's job" and "women's job".

Now if you have a daughter then I'm sure you want those protocols in place when she gets to the workplace.
