  1. Adoption is a beautiful thing, and is what my fiance' and I plan on doing after a few years of marriage. I would recommend checking out local adoptions, or from the states. There are plenty of children in the US that need loving familes. My cousin and her husband adopted three African American children from Texas a few years ago. They came from a bad situation and had been in the system for several years before they were adopted. Any agency you have an interest in check out thouroughly. There are those who scam couples.

P.S. My fiance' and I have no age or race preference, but an Asian adoptee friend of mine said that while she loved her family and they loved her she hated that instantly everyone knew she was adopted. It made her feel a bit out-of-place, so do keep that in mind.

  2. yes i am a sister and i have a little brother that my parents adopted from south korea.  i dont know what the agency is called but be careful becuz there are scammers out there.

  3. The singer Steven Curtis Chapman has started an organization to help people adopt.  He and his wife have 3 kids of their own and then they adopted 3 from China.

    The web site is: http://members.shaohannahshope.org/site/...

Good luck on your journey!  I will one day be adopting too.

By the way if people leave negative feedback here, just ignore them.  I asked an adoption question and I got some rude comments about it.

  4. I WAS ADOPTED!!! idk the process tho im young

  5. call the local DCS office in your area and tell them you are interested in becoming a resource parent. Me and my husband are in process of an adoption. We just started our PATH classes and have 9 classes left until we are done, we also are getting ready to start our home study. We have been in the system for about 8 months and are almost done with the process of getting the child. And as far as where to get one i would stay local start as a foster parent then adopt the child when they become available for adoption.. Good Luck and hope this helps.

  6. We used www.adoptionattorneys.org to find our attorney.

We met with him and his staff.

We completed the paperwork and had the preliminary home study done.

We made up our profile and sent it to the attorney.

Three months later, they had an "opportunity" (a mother that had decided to place her baby for adoption) that we sent our profile to.

She selected us, and we picked up the baby about a week later.

Three months is not typical.  We were told that it usually averages between 9 and 15 months.

  7. I would suggest fostering some of the kids up the street, in your area. There are plenty in need of a home.

  8. my friend jillian was adopted and so was her lil sister, lele. jillian age 11 like me and lele age 10. they were adopted from china. their parents are american and they have a great family. i asked jillian if she hates her real parents. she said no and she was proud and lucky to be in her new  one. she was adopted at 2 months cuz her real mother had 10 children and had to give on up.
