Have you been to Auschwitz?

Have you been and what top tips do you have for booking hotels there and visiting the camp? I'm really interesting in going but I dont know how to book a tour of the place...how should I go about it? Thanks a million!

Friend of mine  just been there,    Stayed a week in Krakow,  in hotel    Did  tours  . there is an arranged tour of Auschwitz  and an associated camp  birkenau... .     Sure   your travel agent could advise you   ..

Go to his website, it is the official website for the camp. It gives details of how to get to it, hotels nearby, opening times, the different exhibitions. My uncle has been to it & it is very upsetting to visit.

I went to one of the camps in Germany.  I just took the train, a city bus to the camp itself, and paid the entry fee.  I would assume the same in Auschwitz, though it IS a different country, and you might be looking for more than I got.  I just did a self-guided tour of the camp.  It was very moving.  It changed who I am, and how I look at things.  You will remember it all your life!
