Have you ever rode a jet ski? If so, do you think its alot like riding a bike, but riding on the water?

Yes.No,the only similarity for me is getting soaked all the time(live in Northern Ireland).

what i would really like to ride is a terrie,hard to find one with low miles on it though

Fist of all the term jet ski is specific to Kawasaki.  People refer to any personal watercraft as a jet ski, when in fact that is not true.  I have ridden both the sit down and stand up variety.  I learned on the original stand up Kawasaki jet skis and owned one for 12 years.  You have to be more athletic with a stand up than a sit down.  You have to do more balancing, shifting of weight, use your arm muscles, etc.  The sit down types are similar to being on a snow mobile.  You basically sit on them and turn the handle to steer.  That's why you don't see as many of the stand up jet skis, they take longer to learn how to ride than a sit down.  Neither type is a lot like riding a bike, but if push comes to shove, the stand up personal watercraft is closest.  Both types are a blast, but I find the stand up lets you do more tricks in the water:  jumps, submarines, etc.  More tricks, more fun!

a little bit, except a tank of gas only lasts about 20 minutes if you run wide open & it wont fall over of you forget to put the kickstand down.

love jet skis, its not like anything i ever have done but its kinda like a motorcycle that if its a 2stroke its like a motor cycle on steriods

I  have lived on or near a lake my whole life. I have ridden them a lot and to me it is like riding a motorcycle, but more like riding one in a big parking lot, gets boring very quickly. It is way fun the first few times, but starts to get boring rather fast after that.

No it's much more like a snowmobile.

EDIT: SID, read the above carefully.

I didn't write it HANDLES like a snowmobile. The throttle delivery and transmission is that of a snowmobiles- easy to use with no gear selection.

Obviously it's not going to handle like a snowmobile, it has two skis and a track instead of a big w/e the h**l its called... turbine? I have no idea. Jetskis are lame anyways waverunners on the other hand are much cooler

just think really fast manuverable boat... i'm sure you've been on a speed boat before? ti's pretty much the same.... (atleast the way it feels to move on it, the handling is nothing alike, AT ALL.... i'd really love to see someone try to corner a speed boat at 40-60mph like you can on a jet ski... that would be ******* hilarious.

yes, high maintenance,,,,does NOT handle like a bike,,,but fun!!!

well the two love birds Mags and Kyle , say it handles like a snowmobile , more like a boat you rock in all directions ! we usally ride around NYC on them
