  1. I went with my husband last year, it was part of a long weekend package holiday and I was not sure that I wanted to go.Some parts of it were incredibly sad, the piles of shoes and cut hair, it was without doubt interesting and informative but not somewhere I would go again. It also opened many areas of discussion and lengthy research into Polish  history and the holocaust. As a holiday no, too grim, as a learning experience, definately.

  2. no but sister went with her husband recently and said it was a very moving experience that she wont forget in a hurry

every teenager should be made to go there, see how evil the people were who our grandads fought and died for just so they could run round stabbing people

  3. I can't understand why anyone would want to go there.

Best to just flatten the place.

  4. My family have been there, they left feeling down and out, absolutely depressed and they told me it was a horrible experience. Must be all the death clouds that surrounds it, not a place i have a wish to visit. Enough depression in the world already.

  5. Auschwitz

  6. my youngest daughter was offered a school trip there but decided not to go after watching Schindler's List

  7. Im going in the summer, I think its something people if they can should do

  8. Yes, I went there a few years back and it was incredibly moving. Our guide was a Czech man in his 70's and he was one of the few people who managed to escape.

I have so much respect for that man. To be taken around that place and hear what happened first hand from one of the prisoners really puts some aspects of life into perspective.

Walking through the gas chambers and into the crematoria was an extremely chilling experience.
