Have you ever worn a speedo? ?

I wore one for the first time on a trip to Europe. I was surprised to find that they were really WAY more comfortable. No drag, no bubbles in your shorts, quick dry. I liked them. But so many people in the us make fun of them etc... Have you ever tried them?

Well man i hear ya. I am 37, married with a couple of kids. Always wore them in the 80's when they were more the norm here and just never grew out of them. My wife is from Europe so she doesn't think anything of them. I just think they are more comfortable and practical. I live in a planned community and there are several European families on the street and all of those guys wear them at the pools too. Although there are only about 5-10 of us total that do it regularly all summer, no one minds it one bit. I think they just get used to it. I think those guys have it easier being from Europe that people just brush it off, and maybe since my wife is from Europe they think the same of me. I really cannot remember a time in memory when i have went swimming in anything else, i honestly feel perfectly comfortable wearing them. I sometimes catch some double takes from people, and become uncomfortable with that sometimes, but i have never heard anyone comment on it to me. Just more practical for swimming, hanging at the pools and going to the waterparks in my opinion. And yes, we have been to Europe a few times to visit her family, and guys in shorts are the ones who are in the minority. In Russia, you will not see a single guy NOT in a speedo suit.

I have, and the feeling is incredible when you swim.  I've worn them in an indoor public pool, but it was only when nobody was around.  I wish I could just be brave and not care what people think, because they're really comfortable.

In Australia like all the guys just wear them. Well, most. Minus teenager guys, they wear shorts.

i wear speedos for water polo and swim practice, and then sometimes i wear them under board shorts at the pool and stuff

Of course I've tried them. I wear them all the time when I go to the pool or the beach. What's the point of going to the beach and not stripping off to the minimum? I wear my shorts in the shopping mall and stuff.

I wear boardshorts in beaches, lakes  and outdoor pools.

I wear speedos in indoor pools.
