Having problems with my laptop.

i just got my dell laptop a month ago and it has a 120 gb memory and 2 gig ram. after the operating system it has 99.7 gigs free. (Note: i deleted all the pre programed c**p.). i added 4 gigs of music and maybe anothe gig in programs such as firefox, limewire, and power tab. but when i goto my computer it says i have 69 gigs left. where is all the space going?

  1. This will let you view graphical pie charts of disk space usage.  It is a 30 day demo.  That should be good enough to identify what is taking up all that space.

  2. Out of a 120gb harddrive you only actually get is 90 something gigs.

    Your System's OS and Drivers are taking up the space.  

  3. All your space is going to back up your files. it saves copy's of everything. So basically you only have half the space. My suggestion is you get an external harddrive to store your stuff and just use your computer to use your stuff :)

  4. check out out the files you have been downloading from limewire.lime wire files preoccupies some space while you are downloading .

    If you still think that lime wire is not the problem.

    Then download tuneup utiliies 2008 from http://www.tune-up.com/download/

    after installing them on your system there is an option for checking how much hard disk is used by each application/software/movies etc
