when i first hooked up my deck the constant wire wouldnt work so i had to connect it with the accessory wire cuz thats the only way it would work. but it caused my clock in my car to reset everytime i restarted the car. so i knew there was somthing wrong with the 12v constant pwr wire. but then it all stopped working and now the deck wont turn on and neither will my clock. ive checked all the fuses and theyre fine. and i tried touching the 12v wire to the ground and it wont spark. did one of the wires further behind the wiring harness fry or something. cuz it did stop working when i turned it up real loud. pleassse help

thanks

  1. the wires beind what you can see shorted out. the wires should only work with the right one not different wires

  2. Sounds like its fried to me. It was messed up to begin with the power wire not working( i had a head unit that did that once it was junk). Since you got it in that condition you probably didn't buy it new so do this. Take your head unit out of your car, pop your hood, ground the head unit somewhere under the hood, and attach the red and yellow wires to the positive battery terminal, if it turns on then the problem is somewhere in your car. If it still doesn't work, and you've got some time on your hand you can take it apart and look for burnt surfaces in the head unit.
