Health Uninsured?

I am 23 years old, just got booted from parents insurance b/c I am no longer a full student. Any plans or companies I should look at?

You can look into a discount dental/medical plan.  Its not insurance, but is more affordable.  It's good for people who don't have insurance or who are underinsured.  The plans range in price from $19.95 a month to $59.95 a month.  They will save you up to 80% on dental and up to 60% on medical.  It also includes specialists, prescriptions, chiropractors, all dental procedures etc...let me know if you are interested.

Discount plans are not worth the money.  Basically you pay to be part of a PPO, but if you tell a doctor or hospital you are paying out of pocket they try to negotiate a discount with you anyway.

Go to a broker who can help you compare the different types of health insurance policies out there.

Not sure about specific companies but you'd better get insured soon, or any pre-existing conditions will not be covered.

Try using yellowpages.com to search for health insurance brokers in your area.

Don't call your auto and home agent they specialize in property and causality insurance. You need someone that specializes in health insurance.

A Broker represents multiple carriers and can help you sort through all the different insurance companies and plan options in your state.

Go to a local agent!  Do not buy this over the internet!  You can be sold a fake policy, or a list instead of insurance, or maybe your local emergency room will be 300 miles away.
