Help! Acne while pregnant.?

I am almost 6 months pregnant and have had a very good pregnancy besides one thing. ACNE. Its not extremely bad like all over my face, it just seems to come up bad on my chin. Its very red, dry and irritated. I use rubbing alcohol on it but that seems to just irritate it more. Does any one that is pregnant or was pregnant have any suggestions I can use that worked for them!? Anything would help =] besides rude comments.

Thank You!!

  1. I never used to get pimples. I'm about 27 weeks and probably about a month ago, I broke out terribly. All over my chin and jawline, everywhere. So embarassing! I used Biore acne-fighting ice cleanser, and the pore-unclogging scrub--it really helped to clear up my skin. And then I also used Biore daily moisturizer before I wen to bed; it made my skin very soft and it wasn't dry and red anymore-it helps to balance your complexion. Hope this helps! Good luck! :)

  2. Proactiv works great

  3. I  got proactive and that by itself was to strong so now I'm mixing half proactive and half cetaphil it seems to be working now! yay it was so bad I would cry!

  4. NEVER PUT ALCOHOL ON YOUR FACE IT OPENS UP THE PORES.

There are some serious dos and don'ts to keep acne flare-ups to a minimum and still protect the baby.

        * Follow a healthy regimen of cleanliness to control bacteria, exercise daily to stimulate circulation to all parts of the body including the skin, and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables that have been thoroughly washed.

        * Cleansing your skin to keep it oil-free helps during pregnancy. If you are likely to have breakouts during pregnancy, cleanse your skin twice a day. When washing your face, use an oil-absorbing microfiber cloth. We sell microfiber cloths with Tru-derma here.

        * Wash the infected areas very gently with an oil-free mild soap. Take care not to over-cleanse, you could strip away too much oil. Your body wants to remain in balance and over-cleansing tells your pores they need more oil, thus increasing the glandular production activity.

        * Use plenty of water when you cleanse in order to rid your body of residual soap that may collect bacteria or irritate the skin.

        * Pat your skin dry and within five minutes after showering put a layer of oil-free moisturizer on your skin.

        * Take extra care not to rub near your outbreak as it will smear the bacteria and you will experience more zits.

        * If you want to use an astringent, you will need several cotton balls to dress each pimple or blackhead. Pat the astringent moistened ball on one blemish and then toss it away. Use a different ball for each breakout in order to prevent spreading the bacteria and infections.

        * Daily exercise will help balance all types of skin by increasing circulation and blood flow to the skin, helping it to tone and become healthy. Exercise also reduces stress, another component that can cause acne.

  5. I've had good results with Tea Tree Oil. I asked my doctor about using it during pregnancy and he said it was fine to use in small quantities.

  6. I have had bad acne as well.

  7. Burt's Bees Wax Face Wash is amaziiiingggggggggg! It is so wonderful and all natural. You can find it in any grocery stores natural/organic section.

I have pregnancy induced acne and Burt's works wonders!!!

    GOOD LUCK!

  8. YES!!  Me too.  I'm only 10 weeks but it started right away.  I use Proactiv and it really really works.  I have been using it for a week exactly and most of my breakouts are gone.  When I tell you my face was broken out bad.....it was BAD.  I never had acne like that, even as a teenager.  But the Proactiv is worth it.  It really works.  Try it.  Good luck!!

  9. Its just hormones. Use a face wash like Clearasil, it'll help some - but may not solve it.  DON"T use rubbing alcohol, it'll freak your skin out even more, try a moisturizer that isn't greasy too.

  10. the only think that seemed to help me while i was pregnant with my daughter get a wash rag hot(til you can stand it) put it on your face(it opens pores), rub some dial soap on your face til its all bubbly leave it on there until it feels like its drying up, rinse it off. when you got all of it rinsed off put an COLD wash rag on your face(it closes pores). After you are done with all of that dry your face then put some alcohol on it. Hope this works for you, it sure did for me.

  11. Alcohol makes my face completely worse, and I have acne and rosacea.  I am also allergic to witch hazel.  During my pregnancy I couldn't do much about it all, since the perscription topicals I would normally use can cross the placenta.

  12. I have always used proactive (just the face wash) and my doctor told me it was ok to continue using while I was pregnant!! It works wonders!! Also I wouldnt use alcohol anymore..it will just dry your face out even more which can cause more acne from the excess oil your body will make to help the dryness!!! Best of luck hun!!
