Me and my family cant decide between florida for 2 weeks or the bahamas for 2 weeks, So we thought would it be possible to go to florida for 1week and bahamas for the next week since theyre so close to each other. However we dont know where and how we can book two holiday destinations in 1 and how to book flights from florida to bahamas or visa versa. Also where is the best place in bahamas that isnt two historical, commercial , or loud? Thanx for your time!

  1. Not sure where you want to go in FL but there are lots of flights from Ft. Lauderdale and Miami to different islands. Grand Bahama & New providence are the busiest islands so stay away from there. Abaco and Harbour Island/Eleuthera are beautiful and a lot less touristy Parts of Abaco don't even have cars, they drive golf carts and boats around. The official tourism website is really great. www.bahamas.com. Book flights through something like expedia where you are able to put in mulitple destinations so it will break down your itinerary. have a great trip!

  2. The best advice I can give you is to go to your local travel agency. Why go crazy trying to book two destinations at a time. They have the contacts and can do many things you can't do on line. I have found most times they are cheaper than the on line websites. They do not charge you for this service.

I did alot of research on a trip to Mexico last year on line and my travel agency saved us hundreds of dollars in airline fees plus got us an upgrade.

Most resorts in Bahamas are commercial and loud unless you go to one of the out Islands like Abacos or Eleuthera/Harbour Island.

Good Luck and enjoy your vacation.)

  3. Well if you want nice peaceful island it would be Abaco and its surrounding cays. Hope Town and Guana Cay are very nice cays that surround the main land, Abaco. The primary means of transportation on the cays is golf carts. Phone and internet service are readily available on the cays, boating, fishing are just some of the activities that won't leave you bored. There is a museum in Hope Town and in Green Turtle Cay. The cays are just a 20 min ferry boat ride away from the main land. While the main island of Abaco has  everything you need for  your trip.

  4. WoW!!! What a GREAT idea! Grand Bahama Island is closest to Florida. I'm actually typing this from Freeport, Grand Bahama :-). Spirit airlines usually has REALLY great deals on roundtrip flights to and from the island. You can book them yourself or take the cruise ship from Florida to Freeport. All you'd have to do next is find a hotel to stay in right? There's one here called Our Lucaya. Check into it. It's quite nice and sits right across the street from one of the Island's best restaurants, Pisces. The food is DEEELISH!!! Make sure you eat there! I love the menu because it offers alot of the native dishes cooked just right, especially the lobster! Whoo! My mouth is watering, lol. If you want loud in Freeport, you can get loud. However, if you want quiet, you can get that too. Hope this helps you some how. Enjoy your fabulous vacation! Take lots of pics too!
