I bought a Digital camera from Best Buy. It's a point and shoot Olympus FE-340. The lens froze up second time of using it. My question is should I trade it in or get my money back? Has anyone had promblems with this model.

  1. Olympus manufacturers are one of the top ten camera companies. This is probably just a fluke with your camera. If it is under warranty take it back for a replacement, it seems like a decent camera. Don't worry about telling Best Buy that it is malfunctioning, they have a great return policy for defective items, not so great if you just don't like it.

  2. just put it back in the box and retern it. say you dont like the color or something like that and just get a similar camera that u like. thats what i do.

  3. First, find out the store's policy.

Will they trade it?  If they will, do you get a new warranty/return time from the date you pick up the new one or are you still on the old one?

If you get to extend the 2 weeks or however long it is that you can return something, then you might want to consider trading it. However, if that isn't the case, definitely get your money back. Even if you go out and discover that this is the best camera ever made, you can always purchase it again and have that little bit of return and warranty cushion.

Go online to Amazon.com or do a search for reviews and see what people say about it. It should tell you if it's a model that's "lemon-plagued" or not.

(That's one of the sites i used when picking out my digital...it helped a ton!)

  4. The camera has a warranty. There is no need to try and be dishonest. Just take it back and exchange it.

Now if you dropped the camera... Different story. You'll pay for repairs.
