Question:

Help! Daughter Dilema.?

by  |  earlier

I have two daughters. One is 9 and one is 12.

The nine year old has a friend that has just invited her over for a swim. She is going. But, the other one is like a fish and swims as much as possible. For her, summer is the swim season.

Now, my 9 year old's friend's dad asked my 9 year old to swim with my 12 year old standing right there beside her. She is so depressed. Any help?!

  1. uhm everyone is good at something. try to do an activity that the 9 yr old is better at than the 12 yr old.

  2. I agree that at age 12 your daughter needs to understand that not every invitation will include her especially with that much of an age difference. She should arrange to go swimming with her own friends.

  3. take her to the movies or ice cream or have her have a friend over

  4. Welp im 12.

And I dont have a sister but I gotta say she has to have some friends right? and eventually they're going to do diffrent  things

Esp since when one of them is 13, the other one is going to be 16.....Just, ask her if she wants to watch a movie or if she wants to invite a friend over? that would make me happy?

    Good luck~~Liv

  5. Take your other daughter swimming separately, but at the same time.

  6. i am a mom of 6...4 girls...one set of twins both girls...this is really something she needs to learn in life....they are not going to be able to always go the same places....the 12 yr old will have her times too.

  7. By this age your kids should know that not every invitation involves both of them.  Just explain that she has her friends and you have yours, and I'm sorry that you can't go, but it's not your friend's house.
