I'm sore in pain. Did i do the lounges wrong? i don't feel any back pain only my thighs and butt feel sore. or are my muscles just worked out and they are recovering. I had a whole day torecover and i need to do the same thing tomorrow...... im scared i wont because of the pain.

  1. It's called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.  It occurs after unfamiliar exercise where the muscles suffer microscopic damage.  It starts after about 10 hrs, will peak after 24 and will dissipate around 1 week after exercise.  Your body should adapt though, and after a few sessions of exercise the pain will lessen.

Try some anti-inflammatorys or deep heat, lots of anti-oxidants (berries), and a cold pack, stretching.  If you're game, try a cold shower or bathe your legs in cold water.  It will reduce the inflammation.

Next time, make sure you get a good warm-up. It will increase the muscle temperature which will lead to a reduction in muscle & connective tissue viscosity, higher resistance to muscle tearing and an increase in muscle elasticity.

You should be fine to exercise tomorrow, just warm up the muscles really well and keep them moving..

  2. take advil, take a two day break, you did too much, do less next time.
