Hello, could someone please explain witch of these two laptops (or suggest a laptop) that would be good for me.

I need something small, fast, value for money, good for typing coursework and browsing the internet.

Would this one be compatible with microsoft word 2007?

Meny Thanks!

  1. both are ok but also check openoffice software for a free suite

  2. technically speaking both should be able to support your software. but the acer would probably be able to get more bong for the buch because the hp uses a slower processor, a smaller screen and keyboard

  3. the first one is the hp mininote with windows vista, yes it is microsoft word compatible

the 2nd link is a 15.4" proper laptop, but small by no means & weighs in at 2.8 kgs

before i proceed any further, i need to know how important is portability

why do you mention > 'something small'

    now some jargon busting,

    netbook > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netbook

    & other avialable one's > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_...

these are the other netbooks on offer at ebuyer,

    http://www.ebuyer.com/search?limit=50&st...

now mind you, you will need to have windows operating system installed, either xp or vista in order to run microsoft office

with the linux one's, there is pre-loaded an equivalent free package http://www.openoffice.org/

these netbooks do not come with an internal optical drive, also their processing power is pretty low by the standards of modern processors

    add:

thanks for confirmation, so you need to lug it around

but then i'm not sure that a netbook would quite suit you

a small laptop might make more sense, say a 13.3" screen size ... lets see what's on offer

    Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo Mobile U9200 Notebook Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHz 1GB 120GB 12.1" WXGA TFT DVD±RW Modem LAN WLAN Bluetooth Vista Business

    £338.78inc vat

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145007

    now that's pretty cheap

heck, how are they even so cheap ....

    & a pretty good one here, http://www.asuslaptop.co.uk/proddetail.p...

think you need some time to digest matter, lol

and when you are done and come closer ... please let me know
