Help! MATHS!!! Really lost here!?

Okay, hey there, I'm from Germany and now in America for a student exchange and really really lost on Maths!

My teacher said the way I've learned it it's wrong in the USA!

Could someone please have mercy and help me with those:

1/2m² = 1/m - 1/2

n²-n-6/n² - 2n+12/n = n-6/ 2n

3x²+24x + 48/x² = 1/x²

k²+2k-8/32k² = 1/3k² + 1/k²

k/3 - 1/3k = 1/k

I know those dont seem hard! But srsly I'm totally struggling over here because whenever I do it the way I was taught I dont get the correct answer!

Help, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. wow that looks hard! srry cant help ya there!!!!! idk how!

    srry but good luck!

  2. We can't really help you out unless you re-write those

equations with brackets, to separate the relevant terms.

In the first one, I can't tell if 1/2m^2 is (1/2)m^2 or 1/(2m^2).

I know it's unfortunate, but that's what needs to be done

when transferring expressions originally on two lines, into

    expressions on one line.

The second problem, to me, looks like 7 different terms,

    but I have a feeling it's probably only 3.

    Is it (n^2) - (n) - (6/n^2) - (2n) + (12/n) = (n) - [6/(2n)] or

    possibly (n^2 - n - 6)/(n^2 - 2n) + 12/n = (n - 6)/(2n)?

Hopefully, you can see the difficulty we face.
