I went to an interview at an agency the other day. I wanted to be an actress but they said I should start of in modeling first then take acting classes. Well they gave me a class to take on thursday. It cost $55 for my first session. But $250 for 4 sessions. Do you think they are trying to just get money or do you think I should take the offer? They say after the first 4 sessions they can put me in print or something. What do you think?

  1. What the other two posters said is true. They're scam artists. A reputable agency earns its income by taking a percentage of the money you earn AFTER they find you work.

You should never have to pay a talent agent up front, for phony "acting classes" or anything else.

  2. Scam.  Short and sweet.

  3. Hi Next

They are ripping you off. If $55 is the cost of each lesson, 4 x 55 = $220. How do they figure $250.

They should go to math school. Also, when you take many courses, the price should drop. In either case, forget them, you are being scammed.

If you are good or have potential, the agency should pay for the courses or give you a good deal and work out something that is equitable for you and them.

  4. i have delt with a lot of people who want to be an actess or a singer.  and i have told them that to do what they want to do.  but your getting scammed.  ask yourself, why would you need to pose to be someone who talks and gets emotional?  it doesnt make sense.  plus 55*4=220.  they are scamming oyu because the price should lower when you stay longer.  im sorry that you feel bad now that you now the truth, so im gonna help you out.  i listed a website where i have told poeple to go before and it worked for them.

    www.talent-agency.com

i hope this site works for you and if it doesnt then i hope that you go back to acting and that the people there dont scam you.  hope i helped!

    P.S.  im 14!  (a shock, isnt it?)
