I seem to have a bad ant problem. I would like to be able to get rid of them naturally instead of using poison. They seem to be in the kitchen only.

  1. you need to know what type of ant you are dealing with before trying to get rid of them.   Most ants will be coming from the outside getting into your kitchen but depending on what species they are can easily be found up against or near the foundation where others may be traveling several hundred feet to invade, and again others species may be living in the wall itself and any improper treatments only causes the colony to bud into several new ones making the problem worse..forget the aspartame, one of the many hoax treatments you still see going around.

Insects have a very simple nervous system that insecticides effect...the harshest ones I use daily will be about 35 times less toxic than table salt and the baits that you probably will use for the ants will be much less toxic than that and will either be in a gel form you can place out of sight of any kids or pets or in self contained stations that kids can't get into.

  2. Poison is the only way to get rid of ants. Find out where they are coming from so you  can fix the problem, from where it started.

  3. If u find where they are coming in at sprinkle crumbled up egg shells right where they are coming in. Hope this helps.

  4. The only way to really get rid of them is poisoning.  This is one of the times where "natural" just isn't effective.  I use Terro; it's a little bottle of a liquid that you place in things like bottle caps and put in places that you see the ants.  They feed on it, take it back to the nest and the Terro kills the whole nest.

  5. U must kill them,,they will always come back. But not with poison. Use any artificial sweetener that contains aspertane,,sweet n low for example. sprinkle it around where they come in. keep it up until you dont see them anymore. It wont take that long before the nests are destroyed.

    Makes U think a little doesn't it?

  6. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it here and there. The ants will come and pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.  You don't have to know where they are coming from for this to work.
