Help about the pill?

When you first start the pill, I know you have to wait about a week for it to be effective, but after your first break, after the 21 days, when that break is over, do you have to wait for it to be effective again or is it effective straight away?

  1. It's effective straight away as long as you took every pill at the same time each day.

  2. When you 1st start taking it honestly, I would wait 14 days for effectiveness to be safe, you don't want to take any chances.  But after that, yes, they are effective all the time. You take them for the 3 weeks, then go to the reminder pills (and have your period) then when the new pack starts you're good to go....no waiting :)

  3. In the packet of pills you find one kind of 21 pills and another kind of 7 pills. You start on the pills at end of the period. When you finish the 21 pills of the first kind, you would be ready for the next periods. You either take the next kind of tables known as placebo pills for the remaining 7 days during that time you would get your periods as well. Or you can be without the placebo pills. You start the next packet from the 29th day. Its always better take the advice of a doctor rather than depending on my answer.

  4. After the first week (or first 14 days depending on when in your cycle you started taking it), it will be effective, including during the break, and after. So once you've got past the initial 7-14 days where it's not effective, it will be effective for every day after that as long as you take all your pills and at the same time.
