  1. i heard of this trick a few months ago and it has worked every time for me. concentrate on relaxing your tongue, make it so that its completely loose and floppy inside your mouth

idk why but once i do this it only takes me 5-10 minutes to fall asleep

dont try music anymore, it destracts you from sleeping, i can never fall asleep listening to my ipod

one more idea is to tense small groups of muscles briefly then relax them starting at your head, this makes them feel more relaxed

    good luck:)

  2. Read something that bores you.

    Like Readers Digest.

Something that you are not at all interested in.

  3. do you exercise? usually a good work out will help take off the edge  especially if your not able to sleep becase of stress. there are tea's that are also available to help yo sleep ..but without knowing your madical conditions as to why you cant take meds to sleep ...ask your Dr.. sometimes eating before you go to bed keeps you awake because your digesive system goes to work when your trying to sleep ..

  4. i usually like reading for a bit before i go to sleep in a not that bright light

it like helps calm me down and stuff

or maybe you could try doing more exercise during the day so you will be more tired at night

  5. A glass of warm milk an hour before bed time is supposed to help.

You can find other natural remedies in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  6. Do as many push ups as you can, then collapse on the bed feeling like you just ran a marathon

  7. an hour?

that doesnt shock me cuz thats how long i fal asleep

    maybe pills

    NEVER:

drink coffee or iced tea in the night

get active(do that when the sun is up!!)

  8. its the same with me. what i do is make sure im comfortable and also it helps if its cold in your room and you use a thicker blanket. good luck!

  9. What kind of drinking habits do you have? I know that drinking lots of soft drinks maybe an hour before you go to bed wont help you sleep at all. Hope you get some sleep!

  10. pray.

    clear your head completely.

    count sheep?

i HAVE to start dreaming, i guess you can say. I just think and picture random things. It's weird but I think about going to Disney World and I fall asleep so fast haha.

and REEEAADDD! reading makes me tired, I always read if I have to go to bed early and I'm not tired at all, it makes me tried pretty fast

  11. s*x

  12. Well, I am not sure what your caffeine intake is but I suggest no caffeine after noon.  DO not eat two hours before bedtime as well as exercise too.  If those do not work you can take some benedryl, but it should be used as a last resort.  I hope this helps.

  13. Pint of Gin

  14. I used to think I had insomnia - then I realized that I simply wasn't warm enough. I need to be *really* warm. I sleep on flannel sheets under a blanket and comforter in a fleece shirt, flannel pants and socks. No kidding. Now I fall asleep in a matter of minutes.

Experiment with temperature, your bedding and what you are wearing. You may be too warm or cold. Use a soothing scent (I like lilac or vanilla) in your room. Your bed should be your very own little piece of heaven, so when you crawl in your just drift away....

    Good luck!

  15. first thing:  avoid vigorous exercise 3-5 hours prior to sleepy time.  watch your caffeine intake; robably dont want to eat/drink caffeine within 6-8 hours prior to sleep.  relax.  breathe slowly.  hold your breath for 10 seconds then exhale slowly.  this lowers your heartrate to sleeping mode.

also note OTC stimulants or dietary aid effects on you, like sudafed for congestion.  Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is an antihistamine that packs a walloping side effect of drowsiness.. so much so, that its used as a sleep aid itself as well.  have you tried benadryl?  if not...

talk to your doctor or pharmacist about melatonin supplements or prescription sleep aids.   try to leave the Rx sleep aids as a last resort as most of them are habit forming and bloody expensive.

hope this helps.  best of luck
