  1. Whatever you do, do not give up! There are always caring people out there willing to help you, even if it doesn't seem like it. You definitely need to get out of that house. This is not good for you or for your children. Are there any friends that you can live with, or other family members who are willing to help you out in the meantime until you get child support? You don't deserve to live like this! The first thing you should focus on is getting out and finding a safe place for you and your children to live and then get your mom and her husband help. Maybe call child protection sevices if you feel like they are really endangering your kids. Here are some other websites that may be helpful for you:

  2. See if you can get assistance by emancipating yourself from your mom. Then you should be able to get a tanif check(temporary assistance for needy families), Then you should be able to get an apartment for yourself. To emancipate yourself you have to fill out a form with the department of family and children services. You may have to pay rent to your mom until you find a place. Make it something like $50.00  to 100.00 a month. That way you establish yourself and probably will qualify for medicaid and foodstamps. Once you have a place of your own PLEASE do not let any men move in, Remember You want to make your life and your childrens' life better.

  3. Fist, get a place where your kids will be safe when you GET A JOB.  Florida (I know for a fact) has assistance for single moms to help them get back on their feet as well as assisting with getting back child support.

Whatever you do, don't leave the children alone in that environment.  No good will come of it.  Where is your father?  Can he help you out?

Hope the kids have what they need for back to school.   If not, contact your United Way and/or Red Cross and see what they can offer
