Help needed with printer.

Question

The computer was sending a message that there was a paper jam which I managed to fix. I now get the message that the computer is off line. (I have had both the computer and the printer down whilst getting the room carpeted, but thought I had reconnected them correctly.)I took the printer to the local service agent but was advised that it would cost me $33 to book it in and from 5 -7 days before I could collect it. This was when I had the paper jam.I didn't want to wait that long and as mentioned I managed to fix the paper jam. I've got the printer connected to the power line and alsoto the computer. The compute is connected to the modem. What can I do to get the printer back on line?
