Can anyone tell me how TNCs (transnational Corporations) maintain Global inequalities or recommend a site to help?

If possible, please give an example of a TNC doing this, excluding McDonalds, Nike and Starbucks?

  9. In brief:

The temptation exists for TNCs to obtain raw materials and carry out manufacturing processes in countries where wages are lowest and environmental protection laws are weakest (I should point out that by no means do all TNCs yield to this temptation). As a result, the countries have no incentive to reform in these areas, as to do so would result in the TNCs moving elsewhere.

It is rather more complicated than this, and there are other factors involved, but hopefully this is enough to get you started.

  10. to advertise and keep organized

  11. TNCs concentrate power, money and know how into the hands of a few and essentially dominate their market/field. It's like having a global monopoly. They run other competitors out of business by providing local services more reasonably or at a lower cost. After running their major competitors out of business they have control of their market. TNCs often open up factories or headquarters overseas, either to gain access to cheap labor or to avoid goverment taxation and regulations.

The factories of some TNCs greatly affect the region of the world in which they are located. They can be the main source of employment in that area and can determine not only the income of their workers but also their quality of life, education, and the future of generations following. Many TNCs are criticized for exploiting their workers overseas and maintaining impoverished conditions.

Because of the growth and dominance of TNCs, other (less developed) nations find it more difficult to compete in global markets. In many respects, this is preventing these less developed nations from being able to grow and expand economically.

If you're looking for an example, Walmart or Exxon Mobil. Exxon has been so successful at dominating their market that they have literally bought off anyone who has tried to develop new fuel technology, and they've been doing it for decades.
