Help please! Its an emergency

I hadn't seen my cat all day...so I went to go look for her and found her sitting in the basement. Her eyes are so gooey that it's practically poouring out. And she can't keep her eyes open for long. She's an indoor cat..we have another cat and he's jsut fine. Their both declawed.....help!

hey i would suggest keeping as much goe out of her eye as possible cause it can damage the eye having the gunk in it just do this with a cotten wool piece and warm water untill u can reach the vets place, plus try to keep her away from the other healthy cat it could spread the that cat and u dont want that. good luck

You say it's an emergency, however you can't take the cat to the vet "just yet"?

It is your responsibility as a pet owner to provide medical help for them when they need it and not when you have time to provide it.

Unfortunately no one here can help you diagnose this and before you go ahead with anything you want to know what you are dealing with. Please try to get her to the vet ASAP, I know you say you can't yet but try to get her there sooner rather than later. Also it might be wise to speak to your vet clinic about what is going on, they may know better what would be safe to do at this time.

I know this sounds a bit odd, but my cat had an eye infection as well 2 years ago. I cleaned her eyes with warm water and then I took a q-tip and put neosporin all around her eyes. I did that for about 3 days, several times a day, and she was fine after that. If nothing had changed I would have taken her to the vet, but I tried that first because it's so expensive

She may have a sinus infection, gotten something in her eyes, etc...

Use a very warm compress on her eyes and gently wipe the goo from off them. If you have saline solution irrigate her eyes. this will help rinse the goo from her eyeballs and may allow you to see if her eyes are inflamed or if she has a scratch or debris on the cornea.

You can get a triple antibiotic eye ointment at most pet stores. It is called "Terramycin". It will cost around $10 with tax.

Be sure you thoroughly clean her eyes first (look above) before using it.

She could have gotten something in her eye or it could be serious allergies if she got outdoors and she's an indoor cat. If the discharge is yellowish then it is an eye infection. Take a cool-warm damp cloth and try to clean her eyes out and see what you can find. The vet can diagnose what's wrong and treat it correctly.

TAKE HER TO THE VET..

Your cat probably have upper respitory infection (it's almost like neumonia for a cat) It MUST HAVE ANTIBOTICS...

If she is really sick you MUST take her now... call the vet and see if they have a program for low income/ or will take payments or something like that... but if you don't treat this right away she may die.

Does she have an eye injury? I had a cat once that had her cornea punctured by another cat's claw..half of the fluid (viterous humor) leaked out before I could get her to the vet the next morning.  It required surgery to stitch her cornea.

She may have injured her eye, or have a major infection.  I won't just say bring her to the vet - get her there ASAP - she can lose her sight with delays.  Meanwhile, do not use any home remedies that people may suggest - they do not know, nor do I, what is exactly wrong, and you may make it worse.  The best thing until you get her to the vet (hopefully within 24 hours) is to take a papertowel and wet it down, very - VERY gently wipe the gunk away from edges of the eyes (not IN the eyes, your can scratch the cornea and cause more problems).  Do not reuse the papertowels, use a new one each time.  Do this hourly, or as needed until you get your cat to your vet or an emergency clinic.  

Please keep this cat away from your other one, and wash your hands after handling the sick one everytime, so if the infection is viral, you don't pass it to the other one.

Its probably an infection, but you really need to take it to the vet because cat eye injuries are very serious. There are so many problems that can cause them to loose an eye.

ur cat may have allergies or something called cherry eye you need to take it to a vet.and try to keep it from scratching or cleaning them
