x = -c / (b-c), there is no restriction on x here, meaning that x can take on any values as long as it is able to satisfy the equation.

a/x - 5 = b, since x is in the denominator, we must remember that if x is 0 then the equation will blow out of proportion since anything divided by 0 is infinity and infinity is BAD:)

making x the common denominator in the leftHandSide, we get...

(a-5x) / x = b, cross multiply x over to the rightHandSide,

a-5x = bx, grouping the 'x' terms we have...

a = bx + 5x = (b+5)x, dividing throughout by (b+5) we will get...

x = a / (b+5), where x CANNOT take the value of zero
