  1. Teach her/him ASL (American Sign Language).  There are some basic sign books.  If started at birth she/he would be already signing.  So start now see what she/he can produce.

  2. book which you can touch with the different textures. the bead frame toys are good. and i found song and dance really good as well

  3. Make sure the baby has plenty of open floor space to navigate.

It really depends on where they are at in their physical development, here are a few.....

If they are sitting you can roll a ball back and forth.

If they are crawling you can use small boxes or commercial tunnels to crawl through.

Beggining crawlers put a toy just out of reach so they have to move towards it.

    Bouncy chairs

Streching Activities (sit/lay on your lap and you move/strech their limbs)

"Dancing" with music (encourage them to sway, kick or move arms to the music)

  4. Things that she can touch, those activity mats are pretty good.

  5. This woman is great, I've been using her advice since my 15 year old was born.

  6. tummy time!!! put your baby on the floor with a blanket under them and place toys around them that are within reach but have to be reached for. They don't like it, but they should get tummy time every day.

Another is to put the baby in a bouncy seat and put a toy over them that spans their lap.... the gym toys with the danglies on them. That way the baby has to bat them to make them move.

    and last idea,

Get the baby a round device that allows the baby to sit up supported (boppy or something) and place them in front of a secured mirror. They'll play with themselved for hours.

when the baby is big enough, a johnny jump up or exercauser is great for motor skills.
